Rings of Time contest entry

My entry for 's contest entry, to redraw one of the scenes from his comic Rings of Time. It was kind of hard to choose which one, there are a lot of great moments throughout the story, but the bit where Tiare gets chased by a hoard of trilobites is what I picked-[link] (for those of you who have never played the original Ecco the Dolphin game, there is a section were you go back in time millions of years, and there are trilobites there that chase you mercilessly if you get too close. Extremely frustrating. This scene was a nod to that.)

Anyway, this was supposed to be funny....but it actually looks kind of horrifying since I painted it to look realistic. Poor little orca been set upon by scary fossil things.
Done in acrylic paint. The scanner mauled the colours.

I highly recommend checking out Rings of Time, it is definitely worth a read.

It's an impressive 135 pages long with an in-depth storyline and colourful, lovable characters; also, you can watch the artist's development/progression between the first and last pages.
